Professor Qazi Abdul Sattar, an eminent Urdu novelist, short story writer has penned many important Urdu novels like Shab Gazida, Dara Shikoh, Salahuddin Ayyubi, Khalid Bin Walid, and Ghalib.Most of his novels are written in historical perspective. he has wonderful mastery on historical theme.

Positions

Qazi Abdul Sattar has been a lecturer, Reader and lastly Professor and Head of the Deptt. of Urdu Department , Aligarh Muslim University. He has been Patron of Janvadi Lekhak Sangh.

Urdu literature

He is considered along with Mir Amman, Rajjab ali beg saroor and Abul Kalaam Azad as one of the greatest stylists in Urdu language and literature.

Disciples

he has a number of disciples who are eminent names of Urdu fiction and poetry like Tariq Chatari, Ibne Kanwal, Syed Mohd Ashraf. Most eminent among them is Paigham Afaqui, author of land mark novel MAKAAN.
