The California Voting Rights Act was signed into law on July 9, 2002, by Governor Gray Davis. The full name of the Act is the California Voting Rights Act of 2001. It is codified in Sections 14025-14032 of the California Elections Code. The bill expands on voting rights granted under the federal Voting Rights Act.
