Purana Shalla is a tehsil in Gurdaspur ,Punjab. It is located on the GURDASPUR-MUKERIAN highway road which joins the two districts of punjab state(gurdaspur-hoshiarpur).This village or tehsil includes purana shalla adda .Shalla Adda is a small town which is very very important not only for people of purana shalla but also for surronding villages. Important shrines in the village are GURDWARA TAHLI SAHIB(CENTRAL GURDWARA OF VILLAGE),BABA PIR-E-SHAH SMADH,AMMA SATTI(bhagtaneya di) and DEVI-TEMPLE. Main relegions in the town are Sikhs(95%),hindus(2%) and christian(3%).Lubana sikhs are the dominated communtiy other groups are jatts ,baniya,laale ,chamar and christian.
