The Advent Vega (also known as P10AN01) is an Android-based compact tablet computer produced by Dixons Retail plc[1] that will debut[2] on the 14th of November in the UK. It features a 10-inch (250 mm) LED touchscreen, Wi-Fi capability, a 1.0 GHz Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore processor. It is equipped with a 1.3 MP front facing camera for video calls.
Hardware
The tablet is enclosed in a black plastic body, weighing a total of 700 g (0.84 lb).[3]
The screen has a 1024×600 resolution. It has a flash internal storage of 512 MB and can be expanded with a microSD card. It also has one USB port. The Advent Vega comes with a 4 GB micro SD card as standard.
Its CPU is a 1.0 GHz Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore and has 512 MB of RAM.
The tablet has a 1.3 MP front facing camera for video calling and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR connectivity.
The battery will give it 6.5 hours of video playback or 16 hours of audio playback time (with the screen powered off). On stand by the battery life will last up to 4 days.
Software
This tablet comes with Android 2.2 that will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 in the near future. The current Android version has been stripped of some functionality compared to other similar tablets running Android 2.2.[4] The tablet will not come with Android Market pre-installed, though this will be fixed with a future update of Android. [5]. However, the device will come pre installed with the Archos AppsLib store, featuring over 5000 apps.[6]
It features a calendar, email and instant messaging applications.
