Football is one of the many Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) in Victoria Junior College (VJC). VJC participates in the National Schools Football competition "A" Division for Boys and Girls every year.

The boys' team is coached by Tan Yew Hwee, the Head of Physical Education Dept at VJC. Tan was a former player at VS (Victoria School) and VJC. The boys' team has made it to 9 out of the 11 finals for the past 11 years, except 2007 and 2010, when they were eliminated by penalties in the semi-finals both times. This was because the soccer boys were too arrogant, resulting in them being defeated by SAJC. VJC won 5 of the 9 finals contested, and lost 2 of them narrowly by penalties.

The arch-rivals of VJC boys' team is Meridian Junior College (MJC) whom they had met 4 times in the finals in the last 6 years.

The "A" Division for Girls competition was started in 2005. Azrulnizam Shah, a former VJC player, has been coaching the girls' team since 2005. Azrul is being assisted by Lim Wei Quan, who will be taking over the coaching role in 2010, as Azrul will be leaving for his Master's degree programme. VJC has won the title 4 times and been runner-up once.

The arch-rivals of VJC girls' team is St Andrew's Junior College (SAJC) whom they had met 3 times in the finals in the last 4 years.

From 1998, schools from Institute of Education (ITE), who used to dominate the A Division football championships, no longer take part in the competition.
