HeyMike! has has been referenced on major music sites such as VH1, punknews.org, interpunk.com etc. Ben Harper who was a platinum selling musician in Yellowcard plays with the band now. They've been on Takeover Records, which has a wiki page, for years.

Doesn't look like this band meets the requirements on this page. Delete. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 07:32, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, what would make it relevant? I see many smaller bands on Wikipedia that have pages that aren't deleted. This band was a fairly successful punk rock band when I was younger, 2003-2005. I've been following their comeback the last year or so and I thought I'd show the history. I referenced everything; I've shown what they have done factually through articles on VH1 and punknews.org (hence I used a .org which is straight from the horse’s mouth as said in the wiki help). I don't understand what more relevance that you need.

There are bands with three sentences and I have researched a good portion of the history. What more can you need? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Foley227 (talkcontribs) 08:04, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, do not post a copy of your argument in the article itself. Everything goes on this talk page.

Second, The existence of articles on other supposedly-similar bands has absolutely no bearing on the suitability of this band. Each subject stands or falls on its own merits.

Having reviews the article again and the sources give, I still do not see how this band specifically meets any of the twelve criteria listed at Wikipedia:Notability (music). Therefore, the article should be speedy-deleted. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 08:25, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They do not meet all the criteria, but they meet some of them:

1. VH1, punknews.org, check the links I've put on for references. There is more but it has been quite sometime since they've recieved national press in the US. I found some japanese stuff, but I can't read it, only the HeyMike! part. 4. I've referenced them on tour and getting press with yellowcard, Autopilot off, the starting line. 5. Takeover Records line up from wikipedia:

Bracket (has a wiki page) Craig's Brother (has a wiki page) GK & The Renegades Goodbye Soundscape Hey Mike! The Crack Brothers of Dirty Jew Town Inspection 12 Near Miss (has a wiki page) Oh No Not Stereo(has a wiki page) River City High (has a wiki page) Stole Your Woman Strike.Fire.Fall Yellowcard (early material only) (has a wiki page) Lies Like Me Safari So Good A Good Night Sound Rush The Upset Victory Paperface Versus the Ocean Oh Romeo!

6. Ben Harper (Yellowcard), Warren Cooke(former member of HeyMike! 2008) (Yellowcard), Steven Neufeld(Craig's Brother), Justin Cabrera (Craig's Brother)

  • I'd like to point out that there is more, but I have to find the proof, I just put this up tonight as a fun project because I like these guys. With a little more time and others finding the website, this will grow.
