Lynn-Avon United is an Association Football club based Auckland, New Zealand. Their first team plays in the Northern Premier League. the club was formed in 1996 trough an amalgamation of Lynndale (originally Lyndale) AFC and Avondale United. These two teams had a common origin, Lynndale having split from Avondale FC in 1947. Avondale later changed their name to Red Shield and then Avondale United.

Players

Sean Devine who is a former player for Wycombe Wanderers and the New Zealand Knights and who was almost signed by Barclays Premier League club West Ham United[1] joined the club at the beginning of the 2009 season. Devine's leadership (he captained the famous Exeter City FA Cup side that drew 0-0 with Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2005[2]) and the emergence of talented young starlets such as Aaron Patterson have given the club real optimism that they can improve on their 3rd place finish in 2008's Northern Premier League.
