John T. Morton is the director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the United States. The position makes him "the chief enforcer of US immigration policy"[1] at "the second largest investigative agency in the federal government, with more than 19,000 employees and an annual budget of more than $5 billion."[2] He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law.[2]

In 2010 Morton defended statistics on deportations that were inflated by accounting gimmickry so that the department met a designated political target.[3]
