The Moons

The Moons are a British indie rock band who formed in Northampton in 2007 and comprise singer/guitarist/songwriter Andy Crofts, drummer Ben Gordelier, guitarist and backing vocalist James Edward Bagshaw, bassist Adam Leeds and keyboardist Tom Warmsley.[1][2] The Moons currently have onw studio album released on Acid Jazz Records called Life on Earth.

History

Early days (2006-2007)

Before The Moons Andy honed his craft playing bass in The On Offs with singer, guitarist Danny Connors. After much touring and two singles they parted company but remained close friends. In 2007 Andy formed The Moons. Initially intended as a solo project built around a collection of demos – English Summer, Wondering, Sleep Today, Serve The Sun and the instrumental Intermission Rag – recorded while in The On Offs, it was when MOJO magazine placed Intermission Rag in their Top 10 playlist that Andy started to get serious. Andy headed to the studio to record an official batch of demos on which he played everything except drums – these were played my Danny Connors. Named The Lunar Sessions, the songs included Chinese Whispers, Don't Go Changin, Torn Between Two, Let It Go and Intermission Rag. Andy released 'Don't Go Changin' on limited white 7" vinyl on his own Colorama Records label and once more made MOJO's Top 10 playlist. The B side of the single was Torn Between Two which attracted attention from Acid Jazz Records who released four singles and the indie Top 30 album Life On Earth to fabulous reviews.[1][3]
