2011 San Francisco mayoral election

The 2011 San Francisco mayoral election is the next mayoral election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Gavin Newsom was elected Lieutenant Governor of California on November 3, 2010 and is to resign in January. Board of Supervisor president David Chiu will become acting mayor until an interim is chosen by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to finish Newsom's term. Declared candidates include Supervisor Bevan Dufty, former supervisor Tony Hall, city attorney Dennis Herrera, state senator Leland Yee, city assessor Phil Ting, Antonio Mims, and Joanna Rees[1]
