The 2011 Nordic junior world ski championships are held in Otepaa, Estonia.

Wednesday 26th of January

Ladies U20 5km Freestyle

1. Ragnhild Haga NOR 13,50,6 2. Kari Oyere Slind NOR + 5,6 3. Heidi Wang NOR + 8,0

The Norwegians were sovereign in the race, conquering the top four places.

Mens U20 10km Freestyle

1. Sindre Bjornestad Skar NOR 24,05,0 2. Markus Weeger GER + 16,2 3. Perttu Hyvarinen FIN + 17,7

Norway continued it superb performances with Skar taking the victory by over 15 seconds. Finland's Perttu Hyvarinen did a great job on the last lap by rising from 7th to 3rd place and grabbing the medal.

Thursday 27th of January

Womens U23 10km Freestyle

1. Krista Lahteenmaki FIN 26,33,3 2. Maria Guschina RUS + 1,00,0 3. Hilde Lauvhaug NOR + 1,01,8

In extremely cold weather at -20 degrees celsius, Krista Lahteenmaki, 20, lead from start to finish to take gold by a crushing 1- minute deficit to the second placed Maria Guschina. Although only 20 years old the finn had already placed 8th on the tour de ski. The defending champion Kerttu Niskanen, also a finn, lost over 1 and a half minutes to her team mate, placing 9th. Norway took already their 5th medal in the games, with Hilde Lauvhaug finishing 3rd.
