Ulster has nine counties and is one of the 4 provinces of Ireland - it is not a political entity, anyone who says otherwise is quite simply wrong!

RebelForums.org is home to the Rebel Alliance Leftist Community, group of leftists who have an internet community called the Rebel Alliance Forum, located at the message boards for the former Global Communist Partnership (GCP). The original members all came from RevolutionaryLeft.com, which they broke away from in disagreement with how the board was run. In particular the existence of the Commie Club (CC) and it's power, which the "leader" of the Rebel Alliance, Gent, even wrote an manifesto against it called A Critique of the CC. Mostly leftists shrug at this and call it secretarianism (to be a splitter).

The forum is headed by the admins, although it is fully democratic, with all members having a say in how the board is run, and it is open to all leftists representing any belief or politicial persuasion, although this is met with skepticism.

The Great Split

The split from Revolutionary Left had been the culmination of weeks of dissent against the CC, staged primarily by the common members. The usual issues of unchecked restrictions, kicks from the CC, etc, had all been addressed, hashed, and rehashed over time. However, the most recent and revealing display, that which set off the division and separation between members calling for a new order (The Rebel Alliance) and those looking to maintan the old, was founded in a simple study group.

A thread found in the learning section, outlining each members desire for, comments on how to run, as well as what books to read for the study group, grew into something more. After the thread's course changed from simple discussion to a demand of action, a poll was started in the only place one could be, chit chat. The creation of the poll led to a huge influx of voters interested in picking what work they were going to read. Ready to go the board members advanced closer and closer to discussion. The topic was closed, however, the administration citing claims that the proper course of action was to go through the admins and the CC, who had already been discussing the prospect of a study group.

Many non-CC members who had participate in the poll were upset with this. Among them, the technical assistant for the board, who posted plans for reform. The plans, as well as the member, immediately faced the criticism of the boards elite. The plans were labeled unrealistic and infeasible for a message board, while the author was personally labeled, "insane" and "obsessed." However there was a considerable amount of support for the plans, and the issue came to a head with the birth of The Rebel Alliance.

As many people who knew how RevLeft's administration worked, they devised a way of annoying the CC. Member titles in RevLeft are a CC privelage, where they can devise their own unique title. So the members who wanted the CC dissolved began to add =RA= to their signiture, the aforementioned technical assistant then, without approval and behind the backs of the administration of the board, changed the member titles of all members with =RA= in their signiture to "Rebel Alliance."

Needless to say, the CC, the Mods and the Admins were not amused, and any Rebel Alliance member who was also in the CC was temporarily kicked from the CC and banned from Live Chat. After determining that not all "Rebel Alliance" members seeked the complete overthrow of the board structure, all "Rebel Alliance" members who had been kicked from the CC were re-admitted. Some debate followed, but it was clear the administration was not prepared to accept the Rebel Alliance's proposal which it saw as unrealistic. The technical assistant was stripped of his powers, but continued to make changes to member titles regardless. Obviously this only further angered the CC, Mods and Admins. At the same time, however, he and others were setting up their new board: The Rebel Alliance Forums.

The new forums were the old Global Communist Partnership board, which had been relatively unused for some time, but it was soon revamped and expanded to meet the needs of it's new members. As of this day, the board is continuing to grow and develop under the democratic decision of all its leftist members.
