History
DataQDirect was founded by Andrew F. Silverman in 1986. The company started out as an international marketer of used telecommunications equipment. On October 21, 1991, DataQDirect ranked number 38 in Philadelphia Business Journal’s top 100 privately owned companies. The company made the Philadelphia Business Journal’s top 100 again in October of 1996, ranking in at number 81. In an interview Silverman was quoted saying ”I can find opportunities anywhere in my business. It’s just a matter of time, money and people.”

DataQDirect specializes in bringing genuine information processing, data storage, data networking, and IP telephony products to the market at price lower than the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) price. DataQDirect sells products manufactured by Cisco, IBM, HP, Juniper, and other industry-leading IT manufacturer products. They use alternative distribution channels for new and unused technology equipment. DataQDirect utilizes its extensive global supply chain to maintain a wide inventory of the latest server, storage, networking, and telephony products. The company has distribution center and sales office is located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The company uses remote distribution centers in Japan, Singapore, Germany, and Hong Kong. The company stocks millions of dollars of in house inventory and also provides access to an additional 2 million parts from a proven network of reliable vendors.
