Lone Pine High Schoolwas established in 1916.The first graduating class of the the school was in 1920.And is the only high school in the Census-designated place (CDP) of Lone Pine, California.. The school colors are Purple and Gold.

Athletics

Lone Pine's school mascot is the Golden Eagle. Lone Pine offers a variety of varsity sports, including Football, Volleyball, Basketball (boys and girls), Skiing and Snowboarding, Baseball, Softball, Golf, and Track and Field.Their football team had one of the longest losing streaks in high school football history.From 1975 to 1982 the Lone Pine Golden Eagles football team lost 45 strait games.But in 1983 they won a CIF Title.In 2010 the football team pulled off perhaps the greatest upset in 8 man football. With only 1 win and 5 looses,they defeated there arch rival,The Big Pine Warriors who were undefeated with 7 wins and no losses, by a score of 42 to 40 in overtime.And their volleyball team has made championship finals from 2006 to 2010.From 2000 to 2003 the boys varsity basketball team won 20+games in all three seasons.The only team in Inyo county to do so.

Student Government

Lone Pine High School offers an opportunity for student government leadership through their ASB (Associated Student Body). The positions include, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sports Commissioner, and Pep Rally Commissioner. Other offices include Class Representatives for the Freshmen/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Classes, and Club Representatives from any clubs which want representatives. Both commissioner positions are available as double positions, meaning that two students can run as a team in the elections.

ASB Elections are usually held in the Spring, enabling the government to act for a calendar year as opposed to a school year.

  • In the television series, Lone Pine rules Moville Mysteries, the main character and his friends go to a high school with the same name.
