Monkey Quest' is a free to play MMO geared toward family friendly multi-player gameplay [1], but with adorable characters and great imagery it is designed to appeal to gamers of all ages[2]. This an original property of Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds Group launched in December 2011[3] and showcased at GDC 2011[4]
Story
In this browser based MMO, your monkey enters the world of Ook just in time to see this peaceful land disturbed by invading beasts. As a monkey, it's your duty to help fight these dark forces off through puzzles, exploration and monkey to beast combat. As you play, you unlock more lands, discover more about the legendary Monkey King, and grow strong to become a tribal leader. This game is free to play, but players can choose to ehance their accounts through membership or item purchases to unlock even more content.[5].
Cooperative Gameplay
As a family friendly MMO, Nickeloden Virtuals Worlds has designed Monkey Quest to encourage coorperative play rather than competition. Players must group together to unlock access to different areas, and are encouraged to play with eachother, rather than against each other. [6].
