Benjamin F. Ward, Jr. (b. August 20, 1954) is an Adjunct Associate Professor int he Duke University Department of Philosophy and is the Associate Dean for Faculty Program at Duke. He is an accomplished pianist who began playing at the age of six.

He played organ at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1968 for the memorial service of Dr. Martin Luther King [1]

After moving to Duke in 1980, Ward joined the just formed a cappella group, the Pitchforks of Duke University. He quickly became the musical leader of the group and became the music director in the fall of 1981[2]. He also began arranging for the group. A partial list of arrangements by Ward:
