Mayor Andreas Christou (Ανδρέας Χριστου in Greek) was born in Limassol in 1948. He studied engineering in Moscow.
He was Regional Secretary of the Communist Party (AKEL) in Limassol and Minister of the Interior for the Republic of Cyprus (2003–2006)
He is the mayor of Limassol since 2006.
