Emily Maitlis is a television newscaster at the BBC. Previously, she spent six years with NBC Asia creating documentaries before moving to Sky News as a business correspondent, but is currently seen nightly on BBC London News, the BBC's regional news programme for London.

During 2005 Maitlis appeared as the questionmistress on the game show The National Lottery: Come And Have A Go. She has also recently presented Newsnight and BBC Breakfast, and will be joining the roster of regular Newsnight presenters later in 2006. From April 2006, she will also present BBC News 24's evening output with fellow new host, BBC special correspondent Ben Brown.
