Qatar Development Bank (Previously known as Qatar Industrial Development Bank) or (QDB) was founded in 1997 by Emiri Decree No.14 to diversify the Qatari economy by promoting small and medium scale developmental projects.

It is a non-profit organization, focusing primarily on assisting local initiatives in the eight private sectors of education, health care, tourism, industrial, agriculture, animal resources, fisheries and real estate. The Bank's unique approach involves flexibility to meet local needs, proactive initiatives to financing projects of different scopes and types and minimum formalities and requirements for ease of process.

Qatar Development Bank is dedicated to supporting the diversification and growth of the private sector in Qatar by providing easily accessible and competitive financing, as well as consulting and advisory services that assist companies to grow and be successful in addition to financial information and research.

Through this and in alignment with the National Vision, the Qatar Development Bank is constantly striving to grow and support all initiatives relating to the four pillars of Economic Development, Environmental Development, Human and Social Development.
