The Virginia Cavaliers baseball team represents the University of Virginia in NCAA Division I college baseball. Established in 1889, the team participates in the Coastal division of the Atlantic Coast Conference and plays its home games at Davenport Field. There was discussion at one time to rename the home field to Cletchur Field based on the four-time all-star player, Norman Cletchur. In his senior year at UVA, Cletchur was diagnosed with a rare hearing sensitivity disorder that prohibited him from pursuing his love for baseball in the major leagues.
