Michelle Keegan (born 3 June 1987) is an English actress who currently plays Tina McIntyre in the soap opera Coronation Street. Currently dating Gareth Downes.
Biography
Keegan was born in Stockport,[1] and her parents split when she was 13, so she went to live with her mother and stepfather.[2]
She attended St Patrick's RC High School and the Manchester School of Acting and was turned down for a part in Hollyoaks.[3][4][5] Keegan worked at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre shopping mall[6] and as a check-in agent at Manchester Airport.[4] She also had a small cameo appearance in Red Dwarf: Back to Earth.[7]
On 14 June 2009 Michelle made her radio debut co-hosting the BBC Radio 1 programme The Official Chart with Reggie Yates.[4]
Keegan was on the cover of FHM Magazine in January 2011, and placed #30 and #26 in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women poll for 2010 and 2011 respectively.[8]
Coronation Street (2007 - Present)
In late 2007, in only her second-ever audition, she was offered the chance to play the part of Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, and accepted the role and she still plays this character to present day.[4]
Personal life
Keegan dated Hollyoaks actor Anthony Quinlan from 2006 to 2008 and model Brad Howard from 2008 to 2010. She is in a relationship with Gareth Downes from Bradford.[5][9][10] and currently lives in Irlam.[3]
