I'm a West Australian by birth and residence, businessman, resident of the South-West, IT literate, private pilot, classicist by training.

Corymbia calophylla is the marri or "red gum" native eucalypt that graces many of the landscapes I love. The typo is deliberate (Callophylla) - I'm not claiming to be a tree. The spelling would perhaps have been nearly as transparent to the ancient Greeks as the botanical name itself ("beautiful leaves").

I'm not claiming any particular beauty, either - it's just a name.

Well, this thing turns out to be the best fun.
