Kremówka
Two kremówkas

Kremówka is a Polish type of cream pie.

Papal Kremówka

On 16 June 1999 pope John Paul II mentioned that after completed matura exam he ate Kremówkas in town with colleagues.

A tam była cukiernia. Po maturze chodziliśmy na kremówki. Że myśmy to wszystko wytrzymali, te kremówki po maturze[1].

Then "papal" kremówka became popular in Poland. Confectionery shop where pope ate Kremówkas was owned by Karol Hagenhuber who came from Vienna.

Sometimes Kremówka containing alcohol is sold, which could explain Pope smile when he said the famous words, but according to son of Hagenhuber there was no alcohol in Kremówkas from his father's confectionery shop. [2]
