Commodore USA, LLC is a start-up computer company based in Pompano Beach, Florida, with additional facilities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Commodore USA, LLC was founded in April of 2010.[1] The company's goal is to revive the classic Commodore and Amiga[2] brands of personal computers, by providing consumers with up-to-date, modern PCs, in a case that replicates the "retro" look of the original machines. This company is not a revival of the original; rather, it is a completely new company which licensed the Commodore brand from Commodore Licensing, BV on August 25, 2010[3] and Amiga brand from Amiga Inc on August 31, 2010.[4]
Products
The flagship product for Commodore USA is the Commodore 64. The machine almost exactly replicates the look of the original Commodore 64 with only a few minor differences, most notably in the area of keyboard layout. The base model has an Intel Atom processor and an NVIDIA Ion 2 graphics card.[5]
