Jasser Haj Youssef

Jasser Haj Youssef (جاسر حاج يوسف) is a Tunisian violinist, viola d'amore player and composer who works in wide variety of musical situations: Oriental music, contemporary classical music and jazz. Its research at the Paris 8 University and the Tunis University works on a fusion between Arabic music and jazz. This Tunisian violinist belongs to the young guard of the soloists of Arab music.

Early life

Jasser Haj Youssef is titular of a First Price of Arab Music Interpretation, a Diploma in Classic Violin, a Diploma in Musicology and a DEA in “Performing Arts and Spectacle”.

He has performed and recorded with artists such as Barbara Hendricks, Youssou N’Dour, Sister Marie Keyrouz, Cheikha Rimitti, Toufic Farroukh, Miguel Angel Estrella, Geoffroy De Masure, Linley Marthe, Ousman Danedjo, Fawzi Chekili, Elie Achkar, Salah El Mahdi, Safia Chamia, Choubeila Rached, Mohamed Bestandji, Dorsaf Hamdani, Carlo Rizzo, Araméa… Jasser collaborate with Simona Morini in La Sposa Persiana (Carlo Goldoni)
