Shalini Bahl is the founder and principal consultant at iam Business Consulting. She is known as Mindful Marketing & Social Media Consultant for Small and Medium Businesses. She is popular as a Speaker in various forums like TED, business and social groups. She is also TV host at AWEtv. AWEtv broadcasts conversations with authentic women entrepreneurs to speak to new ways of being in business that are joyful, creative, and sustainable.

Early life

Shalini Bahl was born in New Delhi.

Career

Shalini studied in Modern School, New Delhi and graduated from Lady Sriram College, Delhi with a degree in Commerce. She has completed her CA (Chartered accountant) course from ICAI, India. She did PhD in Marketing, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts.


Shalini has successfully started and managed new enterprises in the business and non-profit sectors. Some of her past ventures include creating and exporting in-house brand of merchandise, setting up accounting and information systems for a trading company in Kuwait, and starting a new non-profit chapter in Salt Lake City, Utah.


As a marketing professor Shalini Bahl enjoyed teaching undergraduate and PhD students. She taught marketing principles and qualitative research methods. Her research papers have been published in top business journals like Journal of Consumer Research (forthcoming), Journal of Advertising, and Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. As a meditator, Her practice extends beyond the proverbial mat. Mindfulness is important to her approach towards life. As such, mindfulness pervades every aspect of her life, including her meditation practices, relationships, cooking, walking in nature, singing, dancing, and her other work.


She loves most is inspiring people to live their highest potential. She believe, “we each have a unique combination of passions, talents, experiences, and skills that can be expressed in ways that are authentic and profitable, if we are mindful and creative”. Through her varied experiences in different professional and cultural environments, her academic training, and personal mindfulness practices she has developed the iAM approach - which stands for the Innovative, Authentic, and Mindful approach to business. she uses this approach to help individuals, whether they are self-employed or employees, to become acquainted with what is unique about them and channel that for maximum productivity, engagement, and enjoyment in their work.
