The souravli is a type of duct-flute like aulos, much smaller in size. It is made of peg or wood and it has a 2 octave ambitus. Its opening is slanted to the edge. It is very known in the Greek islands by the local musicians. The smaller one called a disavli, with no holes, loud sound and the other one has holes and plays the melody. In Cyclades, the souravli is very widespread , especially in Greek island Naxos. In Crete it is known as a thiampoli.
