Biography

A Classic Education in an italian-canadian psychedelic indie pop band based in Bologna Italy, which formed in 2007.

The band's membership now includes canadian born singer-guitarist Jonathan Clancy, guitarist Luca Mazzieri, bassist Paul Pieretto, organ and keyboardist Giulia Mazza, and drummer Federico Oppi.

A Classic Education have released two Ep's and one single and are currently signed to California label Lefse.

The bands music is a mix of dreamy guitars, sixties melodies, psych-pop, garage and classic songwriting.[1]

In 2009 and 2010 the band played at SXSW in Austin, Texas and at the CMJ festival[2] in New York and were picked by Spin Magazine[3] as one of the top bands to watch.

They participated in the 2011 Primavera Sound Festivale[4] in Barcelona, playing on Saturday 28th May.

In 2011 they completed their first tour of North America[5] supporting english band British Sea Power.

They are the first foreign band to participate in the Shaking Through Web Series[6], where they recorded the song Night Owl that will be featured in in their debut album.
