Wierd Stuff

[edit]

I have commented on your comment re my/my input being wierd. I have read your user page and have noted that you are an athiest and formally a fundamentalist christian. I think it is quite strange, if you don't mind me saying, that you were once a christain and now an athiest, and are attempting to label people as wierd who still read the bible and try to have christain values. I have also noted that you and a lot of people in this group really like to edit, take things out, and put things in, and generally rewrite history, but have you actually written an article and contributed something that is creative and original, instead of ripping other's people's work to shreds. Just because you are no longer a christian does not mean you should go around labelling other people wierd.--TracyRenee 05:08, 9 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Replied

I meant that people rewrite history as a general comment that I lot of people do, and I stand by what I say because everybody has their own version of events. I will, however, admit that perhaps I was a little bit to quick to react. I suppose that I took offence at the word "wierd". I accept your apology and hope that you will accept my apology. I really don't want to get into disputes about the article anyway. I am quite happy to stick with the areas that I know. I prefer astrology and other spiritual disciplines to the cold, hard facts. With regard to Venus being a comet, however, there is a basis of it in myth and I think it is fascinating. If you get a chance, perhaps you should read The Venus Legacy. He goes into the Mayan calander, mesopotamia, and all sorts of things. Regards, --TracyRenee 07:51, 9 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Shields

[edit]

I don't wanna start an editing war, so I'll talk to you here before changing the article back to the way I had it. Shields in Star Wars: although it doesn't seem to be the case in the movies, it is possible to create weak "spots" in the shields of ships. Fighters skimming very close to capital ships are able to destroy turrets and other equipment with highly concentrated laserfire or with torpedoes.

Actually, after second thought, you're correct. I remember the scene in ROTJ where an X-Wing destroyed one of the spherical sensor/shield projector domes on a Star Destroyer, and an Imperial officer says that the shields are down after it explodes. Although, I still think "destroy bits of a shield" sounds slightly awkward. Please feel free to revert/reinsert what you wrote before, and thanks for your input. (Oh, and you can sign your name by using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ That lets me know who you are, so I can reply on your talk page, which is more convenient for you. Thanks!) -- Dangerous Angel 12:05, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)
