Origins

Originally "Code Lyoko: Evolution" wasn't planned and the show was supposed to end after the end of the fourth season in 2007, but as for a partly loosly-ending of the series MoonScoop planned to release three animated films 70 minuets length each, but the project got canceled Due to problems with the co-producers.

Later a new project Called "Code Lyoko reloaded" was planned to release between 2009 and 2011 and was aimed to cover all the series' loosely ends such as explaining the nature of project carthage and what really happened to Aelita's mom. As part of the project 4 code lyoko novels were publish in itallian, spanish, french. The novels are telling the story of the lyoko warriors, six months after they shut down the supercomputer, dealing with the return of Xana who's now use an american girl named Eva Skinner as his new host, and the arrival of a terrorist group called the green phoenix which always tried to take control on the supercomputer and might be the bosses of men in black who tried to kill Franz Hopper and Aelita back in 1994. the story is told by the adult Jeremie Belpois, 10 years after he met Aelita. The novels also reveal new unknown details from the course of the original series.

In addition to the novels a new MMORPG Game based on the series developed by CJ Internet, is schedule to release in 2011 and is also part of Code Lyoko Reloaded.

Finally in May 2011, 3 and a half years after the last episode aired on France, following the high demand of the fans, Code Lyoko: Evolution was officially announced and is currently in production.
