"We Are Night Sky" is often considered the debut album of the Houma, Louisiana-based band Deadboy & the Elephantmen.

While it's the second Deadboy album, it is the first to feature lead singer/guitarist Dax Riggs with drummer/backup vocalist Tessie Brunet. The music is dark and bluesy, sometimes referred to as "Swamp Rock."

The album was officially released February 7, 2006. Deadboy was in the middle of a tour at the time. That night, they were playing at Smith's Old Bar in Atlanta.

Notes

At least one outtake exists for We Are Night Sky. The song is called "Die a Little." It's a short song, often less than two minutes long. "Die A Little" was sometimes played on the tour to support this album, along with a cover of the Pixies' song "Wave of Mutilation."

Riggs played a handful of songs from this album before Brunet joined the band. Usually, Riggs would be performing solo sets, and the songs would be slower, played on acustic guitar.

The album title comes from a line repeated at the end of "Evil Friend."

We Are Night Sky is the first of a three records Deadboy is signed to release under the Fat Possum Records label.
