Norwegian Wind was built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in 1993 as Windward (39217 gross tons, 190metres in length and 1450 maximum passengers). She was lengthened by 30 metres in 1998 as renamed Norwegian Wind. Tonnage is 50700 grt and capacity is 1624 passengers (1748 max).
