7554 is the name of the first next-gen box game in Vietnam. This is a first person shooter (FPS) game which sets the historical context of the Anti-French Colonist War during 1946-1954. The name 7554 comes from the historic date, May 7th, 1954, on which the French Colonist expeditionary army in Dien Bien Phu, Vietnam surrendered to the Vietnam People’s Army. The game is expected to be released in November 2011.

Storyline
Development
This project has been developed by a Vietnam company named The EMOBI GAMES since October 2008.
At the beginning stage, the project has not been widely announced.
A working report on the 7554 of the 7554 design team was announced in a short video on April 1, 2010. Because it came out on April fool’s day, many people did not believe that it had been a real project.
The first trailer of the project was widely announced on May 7, 2010, which officially admitted the existence of the 7554 .
The tech demo of the project was shown in September 2010.

The official trailer of the 7554 was introduced in June 2011.
According to the official news from the manufacturer, the 7554 beta trial will be introduced by the end of October 2011and be released in the Vietnam market in November 2011, with an official price of 249,000 VND.

Currently, Emobi Games has been making an effort to optimize the 7554 to be run on the PCs with lower configurations. However, the current minimal configuration is still well acceptable.
Publicity
The Vietnamese gamer community has been debating about the 7554 before its first release. Most of people were very enthusiasm and ready to pay for the first pure Vietnamese game by a domestic manufacturer, because they felt being proud and moved by the contents the 7554 conveys. However, the rest of the gamers proved to suspect the game because they did not know exactly its quality. Moreover, they even said that the price of 399,000VND was expensive in relation to the price of 7-8,000VND for an illegal CD in the flea markets of Vietnam.
As the official price was reduced from 399,000VND to 249,000VND, most of the gamers asserted that this would be the first copyright game they would buy, because they thought that it is cheap in comparison to the six years of game development by the company. Also, some people said that they would buy the game in order to give support to the company. In addition, some of the gamers commented that the graphics of the game is not worthy to be compared with the game, Call of Duty 5: World at War, as the company’s director, Nguyen Tuan Huy, had said.
