I have been interested in photography since the age of thirteen when my father brought home an Olympus 35mm camera.I will never forget seeing an image of the moon trailing across the horizon atop a country landscape like it had a tail. I remember being amazed that my Dad could manipulate objects and light by allowing the camera shutter to stay open... or adjust the focal points of a photograph by adjusting the aperture... and how manually adjusting the ISO could have such a dramatic change in the look of a black and white portrait or landscape photograph.

The next school year I signed up for my first photography class and I was hooked... Now, after 30 years of taking photographs and videos of people, places and things, winning various awards and competitions I am showing off my work on this website and offering to show people how I get the photos that I take.

People often ask me when they see me out taking pictures, "Are you a professional?"

My answer is, "No. I am an not a professional. A professional makes the majority of their income from the sale of their photographs. I love to sell my photos and run workshops where I teach people to get the most of their own photographic and editing equipment. I tell them that I am just an advanced, enthusiastic photographer that appreciates the beauty in capturing a moment in time, a moment in time that no one else saw except me. It could be as simple as a bird landing to the way an old building looks as the sun set behind it, or a dramatic fireworks event to a wedding.
