KAATSU (AKA "blood flow restricted exercise") is a patented exercise method involving compressing the vasculature proximal to the exercising muscles to reduce blood flow to the limb. The methodology can be used on land or in the water (with KAATSU AQUA. There is mounting evidence that this training modality serves as a stimulator of muscle growth even when performed at relatively low intensities.
