Lots of COI at play here. I think this has received coverage from sources other than SLUG, which appears instrumental in writing this article. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 01:10, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Though Craft Lake City was founded by the editor of SLUG Magazine, they are two separate organizations. I just saw that other craft fairs also have Wikipedia pages and thought there should be one for Craft Lake City. Can you please give me some suggestions on how you think I could make this page more neutral?--Slugmagazine (talk) 18:23, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Would coverage that SLUG has posted, but that isn't related to the magazine be COI? For example, Park City TV has a video clip where they give information about Craft Lake City, but it's posted by SLUG on YouTube. --Slugmagazine (talk) 18:43, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My take is that it's all COI: the editor and publisher of SLUG founded CLC, and your username suggests, well, let's say the likelihood of a connection (In fact, usernames which imply representation of an entity are routinely blocked--it's not permitted here). If I were invested in the article I'd remove all SLUG links, and use only unaffiliated news organizations as sources. Additionally, I'm not clear that SLUG constitutes an acceptable source, per WP:RELIABLE. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 02:40, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In rereading the article, it's apparent that all or nearly all the references are to CLC's website, which is not considered a neutral reliable source. There are other sources: [1], [2], [3], which would avoid the obvious connection to the fair's founder and sponsoring magazine. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 13:47, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you. SLUG is a reliable source, it's a reputable magazine that has been around for almost 23 years, but I see how with its connection to CLC, it can't be used as a source. I'm working on resourcing everything now to third parties and will hopefully have all of the CLC references replaced in the next couple of days. As for my personal connection, I'm a volunteer contributor at SLUG, but am not related to Craft Lake City aside from writing about music for the magazine and having attended the event the past couple of years, just thought it was an event that should have a Wikipedia page since it's similar in scale to Renegade Craft Fair and some others that also have Wiki pages. Is that still COI?--Slugmagazine (talk) 22:47, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed all of the references so that they are neither related to Craft Lake City or SLUG.
