Song
B-side"Jacques Chirac
Burger King"

Pop Song is the first single by the Drugs. It was released in 2000 and earned the Drugs some positive press. A live version was released on The Only Way is Up. Its synth intro is the basis of track 1, "Sucked In!", on Music's in Trouble.

Themes

It is a parody of boy bands and love songs. The middle eight parodies this:

Viewed by a jealous moon
I proclaim my love for you
But you say "Darling, wait
Isn't this just the MIDDLE EIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT???????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A music video was released showing the Drugs in battle with a stereotypical boy band.
