Summary
[edit]Own work, taken in May 2011. Near the Maison Rouge farm, the Ill River, with the abutment on the far side indicating the location of the original wooden bridge over the Ill River in 1945. The modern structure is to the right.
This river crossing was hotly contested by the U.S. and German armies in 1945 during the Battle of the Colmar Pocket.
