The Corpus Christi Hammerheads were the first team set up in the Intense Football League. President Chad Dittman first attempted to bring an arena football team to Corpus Christi but it failed when he attempted to give the city an AF2 franchise. The Hammerheads are coached by Florida Hall of Fame football coach Jimmy Dunn and is led by a strong supporting cast of players such as quaterback Chris Harrington, wide receiver Shomari Buchanan, wide receiver Martin Dossett, and linebacker Melvin Barnett.
