Cent (unit)

A cent is a one-hundredth of a unit of measurement, as in "12 cents of an inch". In some cases the base unit is understood, and the cent is used as a unit itself.

Area

In India, a cent is a measure of area and equals 1⁄100 acre (40.468 m²).

In music, a cent is 1⁄100 of a semitone, i.e. 1⁄1200 of an octave.

Others

In diamonds, a cent is 1⁄100 carat; this is also known as a point.
