Eastwind Airlines

History

Eastwind Airlines was a national airline that had its main base of operations in Greensboro, North Carolina formed in mid-1996. The airline had destinations across the East Coast and Midwestern part of the United States. Such destinations included Des Moines, Iowa; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Orlando, Florida; Boston, Massachusetts; Washington Dulles; and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Fleet

At the height of the airline's operation, it operated a fleet of 5 Boeing 737-200 and 2 737-700 aircraft.

Down Fall

In the late-1990's Eastwind Airlines had many complaints about the service which dramatically lowered the loads of their planes. The purchase of the expensive 737NG also played a part in the airlines demise.
