The Walbottle campus opened in 1959 as the following three schools; Walbottle East, Walbottle West, and Walbottle Grammar. They were officially opened in 1960. Several years later, the three schools were merged into Walbottle Campus Technology College. The school is a State Secondary School in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. In 2008 a new building opened replacing the former three building campus. It operates under the Newcastle LEA Two Tier system and most pupils come from several local feeder primary schools. In 2011 the school introduced a new managment system where the school now has a leadership team made up of the head teacher, deputy head and 7 directors.
Location
Walbottle Campus Technology College is located in Walbottle Village, on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne. Although Walbottle is a small village, over 1500 pupils from adjacent areas attend the school.
Dedicated school transport and public transport links
The school has 12 dedicated bus routes. All but the 138 (which only operates 1 hour after all other buses on Monday - Thursday afternoons), operate both morning and afternoon.
