Sara Blædel

Sara Blædel (born 6 August 1964), daughter of journalist Leif Blædel and actress Annegrethe Nissen, is a Danish author and journalist best known for her murder mysteries featuring Louise Rick.[1] She has been voted Most Popular Author[2] in Denmark three times, received several prizes and grants[3] and her novels have been published in 16 countries.

She was born in Copenhagen and grew up in Hvalsø. After working as a waitress at age 18, she went on to train in graphic arts and publishing. She worked as the graphic coordinator at Denmark's Gyldendal publishing house.

Blædel founded the "Sara B" crime fiction publishing house in 1993, and in 1995 she started work as a journalist. She has been working in television since 2001 as a researcher, project manager, and editor for various programmes.[4][5]

Her first novel was Green Dust (Grønt støv), published in Danish in 2004. Her first murder mystery published in English was Call Me Princess (Pegasus, 2011).[6]. Her second English language book, "Only One Life" (Pegasus, 2012)[7] comes out in the US on July 1st, 2012. She is published in Denmark by People's Press.
