Glenn Kenny (b. August 8, 1959) is an American film critic and journalist who serves as chief film critic for MSN.
Kenny served as a critic and editor at the film magazine Premiere from 1996 until it ceased publication in 2007. Along with his duties at MSN, Kenny also contributes to a variety of publications and websites.
Biography
Kenny attended William Paterson University,[1] where he majored in English literature. He joined the staff of Premiere in June 1996[1] after having worked as a freelance film and music critic for several publications, including The Village Voice. One of Kenny's first assignments for the magazine was editing David Foster Wallace's "David Lynch Keeps His Head," which would later be collected in Wallace's book A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again.
Kenny writes two weekly columns for the film website The Auteurs, entitled Tuesday Morning Foreign Region DVD Report and Topics/Questions/Exercises of the Week.
In 2009, Kenny appeared as an actor in The Girlfriend Experience, directed by Steven Soderbergh.
Kenny lives in Brooklyn with his wife.
