Originally known as the Midwest Wrestling Association representing territories in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa, the circuit was a cornerstone office of the National Wrestling Alliance as promoters Pinky George and Orville Brown were two of the NWA’s founding members in 1948. The territory was eventually taken over by Bob Geigel in 1958, who then partnered with Pat O’Connor and Harley Race to form Heart of America Sports Attractions, Inc., which continued to serve among the NWA’s most prominent divisions until it was acquired by Jim Crockett Promotions in 1986 and closed its doors three years later.
