I don't think Hannah Rose (Rebecca DeMornay) is going to be a regular on the show. Two episodes of the series proper have passed by and she hasn't appeared. The opening credits show instead Monica Potter, whose character is Lori Colson according to the IMDB. Robert Happelberg 18:24, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I have made the change. IMDb originally listed Hannah Rose as being a character back when the show was still tentatively titled Fleet Street and she wasn't removed when the show started. RADICALBENDER 20:02, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Thanks.
I'm starting to think that Paul Lewiston (Rene Auberjonois) will turn out to be a very important character this first season. Robert Happelberg 20:33, 24 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Should Betty White be added, perhaps to a list of recurring characters? She's not as important as some of the others, for sure, but I think a star of her stature deserves mentioning. RingMaruf 08:37, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Agree about Betty White. Whenever she has appeared in an episode, the episode credits say "Also Starring Betty White." --Esjones 15:01, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed Fleet Street points here. Why's that?

When the series was in development, the working title was widely reported to the press as "Fleet Street." Later (but still before the series premiere), the working title was reported as "The Practice: Fleet Street." By the time the show made its premiere, the "Boston Legal" title had been chosen. --Esjones 15:01, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wonder Women

You know, it seems that Boston Legal is now suffering from the same disease that all TV shows have of late. They all have some version of 'Wonder Woman' in them. Now, I'm all in favor of equality for women, etc, but the current trend of making men look like fools, and women as all powerful (both mentally AND physically), really bugs the hell out of me.

Boston Legal started out as probably the best TV show I've seen in ages. But now it's just generic as far as I'm concerned, and I refuse to watch it anymore. To see something of such beauty besmirched is more than I can take.................z

PS. Can't us men have just ONE intelligent and REALISTIC show???????

cancelled?

did this show get cancelled? haven't seen a single episode since Grey's Anatomy has been running in its slot.

No, the March 20th epsiode was the season finale. ABC gave Grey's Anatomy its timeslot for the remainder of the season. Thunderbrand 21:43, Apr 26, 2005 (UTC)
If this show is coming back in the fall, isn't it misleading then for the article to say "Original run October 3, 2004 – March 20, 2005"? Robert Happelberg 01:24, 13 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not worried about spoilers

Because of the chemical plant explosion in Romulus, MI, the metro Detroit ABC affiliate did not air the August 9 episode of Boston Legal. (Or maybe they aired at some sleepy hour). I suppose next week they'll air the second episode of the season, and I'll be watching. I don't want anyone to worry about giving me spoilers. Robert Happelberg 22:34, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The August 9 episode was a repeat of the first episode of Season 1. New episodes begin in late September. ral315 18:39, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

Season Two

I made a couple updates (anonymously, oops) that pertain to season two which is airing now; I added Betty White as a character, I agree that she should get a mention if for no other reason than her current major plot involvement.

Should we break apart the characters section into main characters, supporting characters, and regular guests? The opening credits this season list James Spader, Julie Bowen, Mark Valley, Rene Auberjonois, Justin Mentell, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Candice Bergen, and William Shatner as the main cast.

Undoubtedly we'll be seeing a bit more of Rhona Mitra, Rupert Everett, et al.

Why does Julie Bowen's page give her character a different name?

--Cgrocki 23:46, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

For many shows, breaking the section "into main characters, supporting characters, and regular guests" would be an excellent idea. But David E. Kelley's shows tend to have revolving door casts. For example, (this is purely for the sake of example) Tara Wilson (Rhona Mitra) could come into the foreground big time for a multi-episode arc then recede deep into the background later. She could leave the show altogether in season 4 then come back for the last two episodes of the series. Robert Happelberg 21:22, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Edits

I've made a variety of edits, most of which involved date-specific information that's really no longer relevant. I also switched to a picture without Tara. Tell me if you have any problems with my changes. Ral315 (talk) 05:37, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits look good. One date-specific item which you left untouched is this paragraph:
The series, which benefited from its strong lead-in, Desperate Housewives, has been moved to a new weekday, receiving a less favorable lead-in, Commander-In-Chief, a new drama starring Geena Davis. Whether this move will affect the show, which consistently won its time slot in its first season, is unknown.
Before Commander-In-Chief premiered it was understandable to doubt its appeals as a lead-in for Boston Legal, but now it seems that this new show is a success. Are there numbers by which to guide an updating of that paragraph? Robert Happelberg 21:36, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't touch that because I haven't seen any Nielsen ratings. I'll look for some for the last few weeks. Ral315 (talk) 09:05, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I updated some of the main chracter's information with things learned in Season 2 (Chase's role as a go-to guy, Lewinston's meth-addicted daughter)

Sara

Sara wasn't introduced in the first season, but in the second season premiere. The one who wrote that she appeared in the first season must have confused her with Chelina Hall, who appeared in the last few episodes of season 1 and was also African-American. The character was quite similar, though, just like Lori is similar to Hannah Rose, a Crane, Poole and Schmidt junior partner from 8th season of The Practice, who was also an ex-DA. Characters

Could someone add descriptions regular judges (like Judge Brown) to the list of guest characters? Ausir 10:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find any corroboration that Candice Bergen's character of Shirley Schmidt was ever in any episode of "The Practice." Can this be verified? --Esjones 15:01, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A quick scan of Bergen's IMDB page doesn't turn up any mentions of The Practice. It's possible the character could have been played by another actress, but I think I would spot every reference to the The Practice on Boston Legal (such as the California judge played by Anthony Heald). Robert Happelberg 15:30, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, she never appeared in The Practice. Ausir 12:19, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added information about Chelina Hall to the list of recurring characters. Having appeared in four S1 episodes and at least one S2 episode, I believe she qualifies for inclusion. Please feel free to pare down what I've written, or to add further information based on her S1 appearances prior to "Death Be Not Proud."PattonPending 02:19, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

boston public

it isn't related to boston public? also a tv show. 128.6.175.119 21:01, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Both shows were made by David E. Kelley and there was a crossover in one episode of BL. Ausir 21:13, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
