Blyve is a real time liveblogging platform used by top brands and media companies. Founded in 2008, Blyve is based in Livermore, California.

History

Blyve was founded in late 2007 by Richard Garcia and Jeffrey Cohen. In late 2008, Blyve hired Ramsey Ksar from Yahoo! who is now the General Manager and Vice President of Product Management.

Key Benefits

Blyve's key benefit is providing brands, publishers, and media companies a live blogging platform where they can relay news from a live event. In turn, their customers can interact with the host by asking questions, providing commentary, replying to polls. A Blyve event can be inserted into any website or blog within minutes.

Top Features

Blyve's primary feature is the ability to create events in which comments from a moderator/author can be sent to a small or large group of attendees. In return, attendees can provide commentary on the live coverage. As commentary comes in, it is added into a pending queue where the moderator can then selectively publish or reply to comments they would like to share. Here's a short list of the other features the Blyve platform offers:

  • Interactive engagement: add multiple polls with media
  • Sporting events: add a scoreboard for live sporting events as well as a stat tracker
  • Blyve Ad Manager: inserting custom advertisements from event sponsors
  • Blyve Template Manager: customize the look and feel of an event by controlling virtually all aspects of the look and feel
  • Social media integrations: sign up with Facebook and Twitter and push selected comments to those services to leverage and recruit from your social reach
  • Rich Media: insert media from Youtube, Vimeo, Flickr, yFrog, Twitpic, uStream, LiveStream, and more
  • Live video support: insert a live video from uStream, YouTube, and LiveStream
  • Twitter search: search Twitter for keywords, hashtags or auto approve specific users.
