TERRY SMTIH Terry Michael Smith Jr. was born at St. Johns Hospital NYC. January 2, 1986. to Marva and Terry Smtih Sr. his mother a (Dominican and Black) model from Chicago and father (Dominican) who worked for the federal government(Department of Defense) after 6months of there son living in NewYork Terrys family wanted a better life for him so they moved to his Fathers home country Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Terry grew up playing basketball since he was 6yr playing with older cousins and older people in his Providence(Town). At age 12 Terry led his Rec. team to the playoffs but the day of the game his Grandfather past. During his Middle School years Terrys was a well rounded ball player leading his school to 2titles with the help of his friend and team captain on the team Marion Parquez a 6'0ft 7th grader. Terry averaged oout 15pts, 4stls, 11ast per game. High school was the year for Terry to shine rapidly growing at 6'2 and still growing, he was able to dunk, handles in prove and had real court vision. There was one catch his grades were dropping. Terry barely made the team srtuggling with school and managing basketball his father sent him away to a American Chritian School in the Domincan Republic where in 2005 he learned to speak english. Every thing turned around for him he was being scouted by almost every college in the country scholarships endorsements, his father helped him out in the tough decisons. 12thgrade it was do or die for basketball grades were of top notch, he was waiting on a call from any college just to play ball until a scout came to him personally by the name of Rodrigo Boyce and offered him a professional positon for the Dominican Republic National Basketball Team a 3million dollar contract" at 19Yrs i thought bout it for 2secs and went to pros" (Smith Smiling) " College just was not for me i felt like with the 3million i could take care of my family do the job i love and travel and do things be a positive sports figure for kids. standing at 6'5ft and 170Lbs he was the smsllest player on the roster, so they thru him in the 1spot which is the point guard position. Every thing was running smoothly money, cars, woman, nice houses, but Terry soon got caught up with the hype and the media" I dont know what i was thinking i started getting cocky and arrogant thinking i was the best and that i was so unstppable i had 3 woman accuse me of fathering there babys, i got into verbal and physical altercations with teammates and staff that i was uncontrollable, and i wasnt raised like that" He admits playing woman and also being alittle controlling, on March 13, 2009 with his sons mother Terry was accused of Assault and Battery no evdence was found and the couple split. Smiths childs mother left him and took there 2month old son Terry Michael Lee Smtih Jr. to stay in Punta Canta with her family. In 2010 smith was charged with assault and Battery to another team player for punching him in the face and breaking his nose, it was supposably over smith's ex at the time slept with the player and in interviews the player would brag and taunt Terry on camera. 2010-2011 Smith gained custody of his son, the mother was alledgedly talking to a well known drug cartel member. Terry recently moved to Elgin, South Carolina where he runs a Boys&Girls Club at a near by town."I love working with the children it makes me feel better to help kids out with there problems and home work, ive totally changed since i've gained custody of my son and s started working with kids its an amazing feeling, there is life after basketball"
