There was a U.S. torpedo designed during WWII as well; I know, because my father worked on it; he moved to Florida for a period during the war to work on it (specifically, for its testing). I don't know what its model number was. My memory is that he said that it only did not see use in WWII in that there weren't any Japanese ships to sink by the time it reached the Pacific theater. He told some other wonderful stories of its testing in Florida, but that's probably not germane to an encyclopedia. --JimGettys (talk) 21:49, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
