Explanation

[edit]

Wikipedia has a body of policies that presuppose the existence of ethical standards. These values reflect the common heritage of human literacy and show in both the editors contributing and the encyclopedia itself. The proposal aims to outline their parameters and scope. Understanding the Wiki policies coherently, their place in the whole picture and their relation to Wiki ethics and standards are the main issues addressed in the proposal. Wikiethics is to be a first source for new Wikipedians in terms of Wiki editing and a permanent reference for all.

The approval poll is opened to ask the community for approval of the Wikiethics proposal. Since the ideas in this discussion page will be used for modification and revision of the text if the proposal does not get approval later, your specific concerns together with suggestions would help tremendously as opposed to something to the effect of 'it is no good'.
